Programme description:
BodyART is a holistic programme, based on the theory of the five elements from the traditional Chinese medicine and the yin-yang principle, combining exercises inspired by yoga, qigong, tai chi, physical therapy, dance, pilates and special breathing techniques.
In a BodyART programme you will find therapeutic exercises, balance and coordination, strength and awareness, combined with stretching and relaxation techniques. From the point of view of the body, we will work both with the muscular system (yang element), which we will strengthen, but in a way in which the spine and joints are protected; and also with the skeletal system and connective tissues: joints, tendons, fascia (yin tissues).
This type of movement contributes to maintaining the flexibility and elasticity of the fascia, but also to releasing emotional blockages through several specific aspects:
- Variation in movements, not repetition;
- Dynamic forms combined with static forms;
- Controlled, conscious movements, performed in the rhythm of breathing (when we are in a relaxed, calm state, the muscles and connective tissues respond better);
- Stretching all major myofascial lines, which for the most part of their path correspond to the energy meridians from traditional Chinese medicine.
